GABE’s childhood idol Penny” Hardaway and his iconic run with the Orlando Magic in the mid nineties inspired much of their love for basketball, the NBA, and basketball culture in general. Personally not making it to the league with a basketball had to be accepted early, but ending up in a NBA team’s stadium with an artwork 30 years later can only be described as a perfect fully circle moment.

Early 2026 the NBA scheduled a game between the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies in Berlin. Via the team at Sportfive GABE was approached to created a large-scale painting for the “Orlando Magic World” in Berlin Mitte.

Leading up to the game visitors of the pop-up location were invited to sign a frame for the painting, that was about to go to Orlando and being installed at the Kia Center. With three of Germany’s top basketball players on their roster this collaborative art project aimed to deepening the connection German fans and the Orlando Magic.
